Privacy Policy for YT Music Mobile Remote
Last updated: October 2026
YT Music Mobile Remote is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding user data.
1. Information Collection
We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data.
- The extension does not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, location, or browsing history.
- Playback data (such as song title, artist, and playback status) is read locally in memory solely to relay playback commands between your desktop YouTube Music tab and your paired phone.
- No audio, personal account credentials, or user-identifying information is ever recorded or transmitted to any proprietary database.
2. Data Usage
All communication between your desktop browser and your phone is routed via an ephemeral encrypted cloud WebSocket broker using a temporary random session Room ID. No data is logged, retained, or used for tracking, analytics, or profiling.
3. Third-Party Sharing
We do not share, sell, or rent any user data to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
4. Permissions
- Storage: Used exclusively to save a random session identifier locally on your computer to maintain connection between browser restarts.
- Tabs: Used solely to identify whether a YouTube Music tab is open to show connection status and bring it into focus.
- Host Permissions: Used to interact with music.youtube.com for playback controls and connect to the public relay broker for device pairing.
